I have had my experiences with quite a few South Indians, few were my childhood friends (My father was in transferable army job). I also had a south Indian (Bangalorean) girl friend or just friend or lover or whatever you may call.( I was in grade 9 and I still don’t know what a girl friend is meant for and how she differs from a lover).
My observations
- My close friend Brijesh :
- He always stood 2nd in the lass (as Pracheen, a north Indian always came first).
- He was black belt in Judo and was a potential threat to my other enemies! (I don’t know why South Indians, especially Keralites are so keen for martial arts.May be because of Kalaripayattu.). Any how it is damn good sports and every school must adopt this as a mandatory sport.
- He was very hard working and yes good at studies. His notes were always complete.
- He was soft spoken and good at heart. He tirelessly wrote all my left out work when I had multiple fractures in my right hand.
- His idli and dosa was awesome and we fought for his lunch box.Mysteriously he hated it like plague! (may be some one can clarify).
- For North Indians every south Indian is Madrassi, have dark complexion, have coconut hair on their head and are religious to the core.Add vegetarianism to the qualities and it completes their description. They are thought to be quit orthodox and god fearing. One of my room mates from Andhra, while I was in Dubai, always made sure that his ringing bells for morning prayer disturbs our sleep in good measure. But all this turns out to be a grand myth in real life and gross generalization
- My (girl) friend : An****a
- She was very fair and was school queen as well as school topper (well she stood second in class as Anghshuman came first,a bengali!).
- She was extremely soft spoken, lean and sexy. Not like typical South Indian heroines. She had a perfect figure and no trans or otherwise fats.
- She was sporty and played basketball with flair.
- She was weak in Hindi and hence I was (Hindi Topper) her mentor and hence….a close buddy.
- She was extremely faithful.I have never heard about any casual flick or any other reports about her (you know North Indians guys are Sherlock) from any corners of Shillong. She used to get proposed three time on daily basis!
- General observations about our South Indian friends
- Very learned and study (read career) oriented. Most scientists in ISRO are from South India.I guess it is a matter of pride over there to have a high qualification.
- Girls were known (I don’t know current status) to be extremely trustworthy and simple.
- Honest and god fearing
- Cannot speak Hindi correctly.Though things are improving fast.
- Very conversant with English (and prefer it also).
- Deeply involved in cultural and religious rites.
- Less inclined towards dating and relationships.
