Yesterday I was taking a class. After 10 minutes I realized that my network was poor enough. I tried these things
- Restarted
- Turn off data and then switch did on again
- Tried switching position
- Called Airtel customer care and yelled about their shitty open ‘no network’ network!
If you are expecting to learn a trick to get mobile network when data is not working, please stop!
Soon I found out that I am not going to get network.
Note (skip if you want) : I am always online person, because I don’t pick calls or reply messages but always reply emails. I feel emails have a seriousness attached to them (personal opinion).
After trying for 10 more minutes I gave up.
Soon a thought struck my mind. What will happen if I am not online for two hours ?
Answer : Immense sense of freedom,less anxiety and connection to the present environment.
- Turn off your data only for two hours per day. No WiFi also. After initial jitters of 15–20 minutes, you will start to feel enlightenment!
- I also have no notifications turned on. No ting tong of Whats App, FB, even Quora, not even SMS. Reason : Our phone is with us most of the time. We do check it for every 10 minutes of so. Why extra disturbance!. On Quora, I get notifications only for messages.Others are turned off.
- No call is urgent now a days.
- No SMS or other notification is super urgent.
- I have a super personal number with full ringer on always. My very closed acquaintances have it. Hence I never miss urgent updates.
- The idea is to do internet detox. You and I, and all of us take a lot of information on daily basis but never allow our mind to properly evaluate it. I now use this detox hour to organize things in a better way.
This is my best hack till date.
