How can you know the difference between love and like?

You pluck a flower you like, but water the one you love.
You want to possess whatever you like but preserve whatever you love.
Liking is external while loving is internal.
You want to sleep for one night with your ‘liking’ but want to live for your whole life with the one you love.
Liking is embedded in love but not vice versa.
Liking is clever but love is innocent.
Liking is open ended but love is closed ended.
Liking is withdrawable ,love is one way.
Liking has expectations while love has none.
Liking has to be reciprocal while love is unconditional.
You can like many but love only one (romantically) . Why ? Because love is a full time job while liking is part time.
You like personality but love person.
Liking is physical but love is spiritual.
You like a body but love a soul.
Liking is ‘bhavana’ (sentiment or feeling) while love is ‘bhava’ (emotion or state of mind) . Feelings come and go but emotions are perpetual in love.
Liking is peripheral while love is existential.
Liking is like sensation in skin while love is blood flowing through your veins.
Love is something you cannot live without just like oxygen. Liking is not mandatory. If you can live without your love, it wasn’t love.
To test liking you inflict pain. To test love, you take grief.
Liking is ‘sexy’ love is ‘pure’.
Liking is joy, love is bliss.
